PMMSY aims to enhance fish production to 22 million metric tons by 2024-25, double export earnings to ₹1,00,000 crore, and generate about 55 lakh employment opportunities in the fisheries sector. It focuses on reducing infrastructural gaps and promoting sustainable development in marine and inland fisheries.
