Animal Husbandry

The Department of Animal Husbandry & Veterinary Services, Car Nicobar, is actively engaged in promoting livestock-based livelihoods among the tribal communities of all 15 villages in the region. Operating through a Composite Livestock Farm in Arong, the department provides hands-on training in Goatery, Duckery, Poultry, Dairy, and Fodder management. These programs aim to empower tribal farmers with the necessary knowledge and skills to enhance animal husbandry practices.

At the Veterinary Hospital in Car Nicobar, a wide range of services is offered, including door-to-door veterinary treatment, Animal Birth Control, poultry vaccinations, and castration. In addition to these services, short-term and UTATMA training programs are regularly conducted for the socio-economic upliftment of tribal populations.
